Channel 4 bosses are reportedly working on another investigation after the explosive Dispatches special on comedian Russell Brand last month – but this time, the documentary will focus on Marilyn Manson.

Brand was accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse by four women in a joint investigation with The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4's Dispatches. Not all four anonymous women in the programme accused Brand of rape. The serious incidents are said to have taken place between 2006 and 2013. The comedian and Hollywood actor has vehemently denied the accusations made against him.

Now, Channel 4 bosses are reportedly hoping to do the same with metal rock singer Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, amid ongoing sex allegations from his several women, including his previous partners.

Manson, 54, has faced several lawsuits since 2021, with allegations against him made by several women, accusing him of sexual and psychological assault. Game of Thrones star Esme Bianco and Manson's ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, were among the accusers. He has continued to vehemently deny the claims, with many of the lawsuits filed against him so far over the allegations either dropped, dismissed or settled.

After the success of the explosive investigation on Russell Brand, Channel 4 bosses are now reportedly working on a Dispatches episode titled Marilyn Manson: Behind the Mask which "will look at multiple allegations of sexual assault made against the US singer".

The documentary will reportedly be much longer than the Brand episode, and will come in three parts, according to The Sun. Susan Lavery, of production company Lightbox said: "This tells the definitive story of the controversy surrounding the star, charting his career from its early days through to his being dropped by his manager, agent and record label as a result of the allegations made against him."

The documentary on Manson will also reportedly include ‘first-hand testimony’ and ‘intimate accounts from the accusers’. "The series asks timely questions about how the music industry draws the line between rock and roll excess and transgressive behaviour," Susan said.

Manson's ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood previously shared her allegations of rape and abuse in 2017 - keeping the name of her alleged accuser anonymous. However, four years later in a poignant Instagram post in 2021, she named Manson and alleged that the singer had groomed her as a teenager.

"The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson," she wrote at the time before claiming that the singer had ‘horrifically abused me for years’.

The actress first became romantically involved with Manson when she was 18 and he was 38. They dated for a number of years and even became engaged for a number of months in 2010 before their split.

The Mirror has approached Manson’s reps and Channel 4 for comment.
