Corrie Tim's fate 'sealed' as fans spot clue after he's left for dead by Stephen

Coronation Street fans are convinced they have spotted a clue that confirms Tim Metcalfe’s fate on the hit ITV soap.

On Monday’s episode, the fan favourite was left for dead after being brutally attacked by cobbles murderer Stephen Reid. During the episode, Tim was distracted from Sally's plans for their wedding anniversary when a passing mention from Brian of Stephen’s interest in the canal dredging project left him suspicious. Tim then decided to head to the canal towpath, where he used discarded objects nearby to poke at the water before a corpse's hand floated to the surface.

A horrified Tim then ran to his taxi, dialling 999 to report the dead body but his phone was playing up and, before he could ring back, he was interrupted by a menacing Stephen sitting in the back. After pretending that things were fine, Stephen then noticed Tim was heading to the police station and he took off his tie, strangling Tim in the driver's seat.

However, Tim then reclined his chair, which left Stephen crushed and he was able to make a run for it. Yet in true soap style, Tim then decided to stop and tie his shoelace with Stephen then whacking him over the head from behind with a metal rod, leaving Tim unconscious on the floor.

It appeared that Tim had survived but Stephen had other plans as he tied up his hands and strangled him, leaving him lifeless. Stephen then discarded the metal rod, throwing it high into the air. Later on the episode, Stephen put Tim's body in the boot of his taxi, driving it into the woods before dousing it with petrol, the cobbles killer went to set it alight but was soon stopped in his tracks by nearby helicopters in the sky.

At the end of the episode, Stephen returned to the cobbles in a different taxi with Tim's fate unknown. However, as soap watchers desperately await to see whether Tim survives, some viewers think they already have the answer.

Taking to social media, viewers pointed out that Stephen never set the taxi on fire on-screen so Tim could still regain consciousness from his injuries and survive the brutal attack. Taking to social media, one person said: “#corrie I’m pretty sure Tim is still alive and will bring Stephen down”, while another added: “If Stephen doesn’t set fire to the Taxi & legs it, then I’ll be fairly confident Tim is still alive #Corrie.”

A different account put: “Nah, Tim’s gotta still be alive. That’s why Stephen didn’t set fire to the cab so it’s at least a bit realistic when Tim returns. I beg #Corrie”, another viewer wrote: “I have a hunch that Tim is still alive. Don’t think they’d kill him off… #Corrie” while a different soap watcher added: “Great ep tonight @itvcorrie edge of the seat stuff. Loving ma man Stephen guessing Tim is still alive as Stephen didn't set the car on fire. Roll on Wednesday's ep #Corrie.”
