Corrie's Tim Metcalfe's fate teased in spoilers as Stephen strikes again

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe could be dead after Stephen Reid brutally attacked him, while spoilers are teasing his fate.

But is Tim actor Joe Duttine leaving the ITV soap and does Tim die? Has Stephen really killed again? These are the questions needing answered after brutal scenes on Monday night. Viewers are convinced Tim is dead after he appeared lifeless after a showdown with murderer Stephen.

After cottoning on to Stephen's killer crimes and discovering a body, Tim was left fighting for survival. In dramatic scenes, he was attacked by Stephen twice, and now he faces death. Stephen strangled him only for Tim to get away, but the killer then hit him over the head with a metal bar.

If that wasn't enough, Tim then tied him up and appeared to suffocate him after he regained consciousness, with Tim left laying with his eyes wide open. At the end of the episode, Tim's body was shown shoved into the boot of his taxi, with Stephen then dousing the car in petrol.

Viewers now face an anxious wait until Wednesday night for any more news or clues about Tim's fate. The spoilers certainly tease an exit is on the cards, as concern grows for the missing character – while the spoilers do not reveal at all if he lives or dies. What is known is that his wife Sally Metcalfe seems to be fearing the worst just like viewers.

While no one realises what has happened to him at first, Sally soon demands help looking for Tim as she knows something is not right. But it's only towards the end of the week when there's speculation Stephen is a killer that Sally is convinced he's involved in Tim's vanishing act.

A comment about Stephen getting rid of anyone that got in his way leads to worry that Tim might be dead, given he was trying to prove Stephen was dodgy. He even publicly accused him of possibly having something to do with Leo Thompkins' death, unaware that he had worked out the truth.

In upcoming episodes, as Stephen prepares to flee Weatherfield for good and the police close in on him, Sally starts to panic as she realises no one has seen Tim, and he had not returned home. She has no idea about his run-in with Stephen and the fact he's either dead or fighting for his life - but will she and the police manage to find him in time?
