EastEnders' Rocky's plan exposed after lie to Kathy ahead of devastating exit

Brian Conley is bowing out of the role in the coming months, with his exit storyline already written. While no date or plot has been confirmed, his recent gambling could be a sign of what is to come. His money woes lead to drama with wife Kathy Beale and her family next week, with his secret agenda exposed.
It all kicks off when Kathy is keen to find a place of their own, but Rocky doesn't have the funds for it. He claims Jay Brown is late paying him at the car lot, while secretly he's continuing to place bets. Rocky lies to his wife, covering up what is really going on with him losing money.
Wanting to make money fast, Rocky hatches a plan to sell more cars in hope that the extra commission will secure his and Kathy’s future. In the meantime, he secretly plots to convince the Beales to let him and Kathy move back in, after they recently left over drama surrounding Cindy Beale's return.
Rocky invites Kathy's family over for lunch, claiming Kathy wants to bury the hatchet when secretly he's plotting. He wants to convince Ian to let them move back into the house to stop Kathy's hopes of them finding a new home. But his plan is rumbled, and chaos ensues.

, as he teased his exciting exit storyline. It was revealed that Rocky's exit has been in the pipeline for some time after Brian expressed his desire to leave the show. with it "set in stone".
At the time of the announcement, EastEnders addressed the reports about his exit, denying claims of a fallout. They said: "We can confirm that Brian Conley will be leaving . There is absolutely no truth in any claims of a feud with bosses and the show fully support Brian in his decision to leave which was made some time ago.

Taking to to release a video confirming his exit and denying he quit , Brian added: "Hello lovely people, it's me, Brian Conley AKA Rocky from EastEnders. Sending out this message, especially to all the EastEnders fans. Now, you may have heard reports that I'm leaving EastEnders and it was a tough decision but it is true... I am going.
"I made it for many reasons, this decision, and it's tough because they're such a wonderful crowd. In front of the cameras and behind the cameras, I've loved my three years there. So that's the truth in the reports! There's other parts of the reports saying that I 'clashed' with TV bosses and the crew. I didn't 'clash' with anyone, I didn't have a rant."
He went on: "I've gone with their [EastEnders'] blessings at the , I'm excited about the future and where it's going to go. I'm also excited about Rocky's exit... as I know it's good! So I'm sending you much love, all the EastEnders fans, and yeah... enough said!"
