Brian Dowling and his new career has given him a different life
The new series of Big Brother has started and there are now a new crop of contestants for us to watch 24 hours a day as their lives unfold on our TV screens. One of those people who know exactly what it's like to live in the Big Brother house is Brian Dowling, the victor from season two.
Brian, 45 won the show 22 years ago on its second series and since then has had a successful showbiz career. From presenting Saturday morning TV, to competing in Strictly Come Dancing and Hell's Kitchen to even being given his own show, Brian is no stranger to the limelight.
He married his on and off partner, and dancing with the stars judge Arthur Gourounlian, 43, in 2015 and the welcomed a their first child together via surrogacy through Brian's sister in 2022. Brian was quite vocal about some of the vile messages he had received following the birth of his beloved daughter.
"I can handle comments saying I'm a sh*t TV host, saying I've ruined my face with botox, and comments regarding my fake accent,” he told Instagram followers in January. The couple made a documentary about how they're finding parenthood called Brian and Arthur's Very Modern Family that give a look inside their experience.
Earlier this year Brian joked that he landed his first full time job since he worked as a air steward for Ryanair before joining The Big Brother house. The media personality co-hosts 98FM's daytime show from 10am to 1pm with Suzanne Kane. Brian isn't new to our screens but is new to the world of radio.

It’s very exciting! When the pair first announced the news Suzannae said: 'Myself and Brian Dowling are teaming up, we’re consciously coupling up on the radio."
Brian said: "T o have this opportunity with you, I’m so excited, I’ve never really done radio before. Just so you know, Suzanne you’ll be doing the heavy lifting Monday to Friday. This is the first time in years I have a full-time job! I've gotta be good. You do need to turn up everyday," he joked.
The show kicked off from March 27 and has been a huge success. Friends of Brian had wished him a good first day, including, Girls Aloud Singer Kimberly Walsh who commented 'Amazing' alongside a heart emoji.
