Stacey Dooley cruelly mum-shamed over clip of baby watching dad on Strictly
Stacey Dooley has been forced hit back at social media trolls after she was mum-shamed over a clip that showed her baby watching Strictly Come Dancing. The 36-year old, who met her husband Kevin Clifton on the show, took to her Instagram account on Saturday to share the sweet video of tot Minnie enjoying the BBC1 programme.
Sharing the clip, Stacey spoke of her pride at witnessing Minnie "watching her Daddy's show". She penned: "NO IM NOT OKAY. First time I’ve been home for Strictly and legit Minnie loves it.
"I feel so emosh. Her little face watching her Daddy’s show. And you know what’s mad? 2 Minnie’s?! And @tommyblaizeofficial in the shot …she came out to his song! For every parent that messaged us when we did the show…. NOW I GET IT, it’s a different show through your babies eyes. (Blame the OTT on the jet lag pls)." [sic]
However, Stacey's joy soon turned to dismay after several followers called her out for allowing Minnie to sit so close to the TV. The star appeared to delete the majority of the negativity from the comments section, though one user's criticism remained, which read: "Not sure I would be ok with such a young baby sitting so close to the TV it isn’t good for her eyes & could be dangerous."
It prompted Stacey to respond: "Also. Don’t @ me. She crawled over that close (tele on the floor cos we’ve just moved). She won’t be there for long before you tell me she shouldn’t be that close etcccxxxxxxx." [sic]
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filmingA number of more kind-hearted followers quickly defended the star, meanwhile, telling critics to mind their own business. One wrote: "Why!! Keep their bloody opinions to themselves! Some people just like to main! Don’t listen or take it on board they are totally worth ignoring!!!" Another added: "Have people actually commented on her sitting close to the tv??? Ffs I apologise for them!"
A third declared: "People just need to mind there own business sometimes because nobody is perfect and you shouldn’t have to explain yourself. P.S she’s gorgeous. And a fourth said: "Ignore all haters! Our little boy is 4 and he still stands too close! People will always have their own horrible views, not worth the upset."
