One of the biggest matches of the season so far takes place on Sunday afternoon, with Man City taking on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It’s a match between two teams who contested the Premier League title race last season, with this season’s fixture providing the chance to make an early statement of intent. The Gunners could leapfrog City with a win, but will need to produce their best to beat a team who defeated them twice in the league last season before clinching the title as part of a historic treble.

The Gunners host a City side who bounced back from their first Premier League defeat of the season with a victory against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Arsenal, meanwhile, won on their last Premier League outing against Bournemouth but were beaten by Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday.

City won on their last visit to the Emirates, with their victory in February having swung the pendulum in their favour during a thrilling title race. This win was backed up by victory at the Etihad Stadium for City in April, with a 4-1 win effectively ending Arsenal’s dreams of winning the title.

However, with a new season underway, and the Gunners just a single point behind City in the title race, it’s a chance to land an early blow against a rival for both sides.
