Lorraine Kelly's daughter Rosie Smith made her TV debut on an ITV rival channel's show alongside Jeremy Vine. The 29-year-old joined the star's self-titled show panel to discuss current affairs and news on Channel 5 on Friday.

Lorraine is known for hosting her popular breakfast programme on ITV, where she regularly interviews celebrity guests in discussions about national events. However, Rosie appeared on the Channel 5 show, hosted by Jeremy Vine and Scottish presenter Storm Huntley.

Mirador, her management, shared an Instagram post of Rosie on the panel, announcing: "Rosie Smith is on Jeremy Vine this morning! Watch live here." Lorraine and Rosie have previously appeared together on Channel 4's Gogglebox and even launched their own podcast 'What If?'

Rosie graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2016 after studying journalism. Lorraine has spoken openly about the "incredibly close" relationship she shares with Rosie, whom she shares with husband Steve Smith, particularly since Rosie returned to the UK after living in Singapore for four years.

Lorraine married Steve in 1992 after they met while he was working as a cameraman on one of her early shows. The couple were blessed with their first child, Rosie, in 1994 and had hopes of expanding their family. However, they suffered a devastating miscarriage.

Rosie was five years old when her parents endured the loss. Recalling the incident in a 2015 interview with OK! magazine, she said, "I do remember. We were in Dundee. I was in the car with Dad following the ambulance. I was okay, though - I had no idea what was going on."

Recently, Lorraine expressed her admiration for her "amazing girl" Rosie, who has just bought her first home. Despite Rosie moving out, the ITV host confessed to keeping a spare room for her in the family home.

In an interview with Weekend Magazine, Lorraine shared, "We talk about everything under the sun," but clarified, "I'm her mum, though, I'd never say I was her best friend because she's got her friends already. "I'd love to think she tells me everything but she doesn't."

Viewers were given a peek into Lorraine's Scottish home, where Rosie and their pet dog also reside. The dog was particularly popular among fans when they previously allowed cameras into their residence.

Rosie herself became a homeowner last year, purchasing a two-bedroom apartment in London's Islington for £865,000. She has since been working on transforming the shabby property into her dream home.
