The real reason Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith are getting divorced
Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have split and now the reason for their divorce has come to light.
The Queen & Slim actress, 37, filed for divorce from the Dawson's Creek actor, 45, after nearly four years of marriage. They share a daughter named Juno and according to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jodie asked for joint custody of their three-year-old when filing for divorce.
Now reports have emerged that the couple were estranged for a year before their official split. According to the Deux U podcast they both unfollowed each other on Instagram in September 2022. It was also noticed at the time that Jodie's BFF had also unfollowed her husband and vice versa.
"There was some Instagram unfollowing in the fall of 2022 shortly after I posted this they started following each other again," anonymous gossip blogger DeuxMoi said. She also claims the couple were "living separately" and that she was staying in Topanga Canyon while he stayed about an hour away in LA.

"They had some brand deals together including one for J Crew and Motorola so maybe they had to fulfill those contracts," she said.
The gossip aggregator also claims that while she "heard that Joshua Jackson is one to slide into the DMs of young and beautiful women on Instagram" she is "not saying there was cheating involved but if there was an estrangement for over a year you gotta get yours somewhere".
The Mirror has contacted Joshua and Jodie's representatives for comment.
Yesterday a source claimed Jodie decided she was "done". They added: "Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working,' though it's unclear if her relationship with Joshua was strained by a desire to work."
Speaking to People, the source claimed: "It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy." The day before she filed for divorce, the couple attended New York Fashion Week together. Mirror have contacted Jodie and Joshua's representatives for comment.
Before marrying, the pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement and the 37-year-old model has requested for spousal support to be off the table for both her and her former partner. The Anne Boleyn star listed the date of their separation as September 13, confirming that the two parted ways over a month ago.
Jodie and Joshua met at his birthday party in 2018 and the two fell head over heels for each other. They tied the knot a few months after meeting. The pair reportedly went to the Beverly Hills Courthouse and signed a wedding license together before most people even knew they were dating.
Since then, the couple have gushed about one another on social media and in interviews. The pair were actually engaged two times with Jodie popping the question first, something the former Dawson's Creek actor revealed during an interview on The Tonight Show.
He recalled: "She asked me, yeah, on New Year’s Eve. We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful and incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach and she asked me to marry her.” The former Fatal Attraction star continued that he was caught off guard by her proposal and added that she was "quite adamant" that they should get married and "she was right". He then took the wedding ring off his finger and held it up in front of Jimmy Fallon and said: "This was the best choice I ever made."
Rumours began swirling about their whirlwind relationship earlier this year when fans noticed the two unfollowed each other on Instagram. They also stopped posting photos of each other on their pages.
