A man became panicked on a flight when his hand got stuck in a cup holder after trying to see if it would fit through the hole.

Singaporean Abraham De Laure, 29, was on a flight to Ho Chi Minh City with his friend when the incident occurred. His friend, Darshen Kuna, is a local influencer so instead of trying to help his pal, he filmed the ordeal and posted it on TikTok. The video now has nearly half a million views.

The video begins with De Laure’s hand already in the hole. He asks Kuna to "put butter" on it to try and squeeze it out - pleading with him not to call the flight attendant as he is embarrassed. But the video then cuts to a flight attendant at the row. The woman is stifling laughter and says: "Oh my God, how did you do this?!" Abraham then asks the flight attendant for some butter and she says: "Oh my God, I don’t think I have any butter" and they laugh even harder. The video finishes with De Laure trying his best to remove his hand by force but he is not successful.

He later told the Singaporean publication Mothership that the whole ordeal reportedly lasted around 10 minutes. He said: "Basically, I let my intrusive thoughts win. I was relieved that it got out." In a separate interview with Insider, he said his hand was bruised afterwards and that he was surprised Kuna’s videos have received so much interest.

He said: "We didn’t think that people would be so invested in it" and that many users were demanding part two to know if he freed his hand. Kuna later uploaded a second video, which also has close to half a million views, showing De Laure managing to pull out his hand. In the second video, Darshan can be heard saying: "You’re so screwed, how on Earth did you get your hand stuck in a cup holder?" In the video comment section, Abraham wrote: "To the whole crew on that flight…I deeply apologise."

Someone pointed out: "Bro he had butter on his tray that whole time and never noticed in his panic." Another user wrote: "Even the flight attendant was dying of laughter, hope he learned his lesson not to stick his hand where it doesn’t belong!"
