Drake fans have been in for a treat after receiving cryptic news about a new project and a new single, for which the music video features his son, Adonis.

The music video for the single, titled 8AM in Charlotte, was shared onto the Canadian rapper's Instagram account. In the intro, his son Adonis is showing off his artwork after Drake asks him: "Adonis, tell me about that beautiful piece of artwork you sold me."

His son reveals that the drawing is to portray his dad at "the goat." The same drawing was previously revealed to be the album artwork for his upcoming album FOR ALL THE DOGS, which is due out on October 6th.

The five-year-old, whose mother is French artist Sophie Brussaux, is also seen dancing as his dad raps along to the track later on in the video. Fans took to the comments to share how happy they were about the new release, with one writing: "The greatest ever don't @ me."

Another put: "You always keep us on our toes bro. Good thing I was up on the gram." A third typed: "Nah, you ain’t have to snap like this . Like WHAT?!" And a fourth added: "That’s a lot to digest. I got the Daddy Goat part though."

The track dropped after Drake posted a teaser on his Instagram story overnight. On a black screen he wrote: "Scary Hours for those who remain sleepless after all these years ... shall we begin?"

The rapper's new wave of music comes after he faced controversy after releasing his single Slime You Out, with singer SZA. Hollywood star Halle Berry was left fuming after the chart-topping rapper opted to make the artwork for Slime You Out an image of her covered in gunk.

Halle uploaded a rather cryptic post on Instagram. The post - a pink background with white writing - read: "Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy... even if you're a woman!" fans then rushed to comment on the upload with one asking Halle what she thought about Drake using the picture of her from the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards when she famously had green gunk dumped on her in her seat.

Halle's response to the question confirmed that the seemingly indirect post had a very definite person in mind. She replied: "Didn't get my permission.

That's not cool I thought better of him!" She then replied to a second follower adding: "Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on!" Halle made several other comments on the post regarding the issue including how it was "about principles and integrity. so happy many of you get that."
