Ozzy Osbourne is no stranger to making an exhibition of himself – and now a dedicated museum is set to shine a light on the Prince of Darkness’s career. The 74-year-old’s wife Sharon said she hopes the interactive archive, in his native Birmingham, will educate and inspire a new generation of rockers.

Telling their children Kelly, 38, and Jack, 37, about the plans, Sharon, 70, said: "I’ve been busy trying to get together daddy’s memorabilia for the place we’re opening. He’s having all of his awards, stage clothes, posters [in the museum. I’ve got so much memorabilia."

Speaking on the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, she added: "It’s more of an educational thing for musicians and artists that wanna see that you can come from nothing – and that if you work hard enough, this is what you can get."

Sharon added: "We’re going to have a café and every instrument you can think of. Students can come in and we’re gonna do music classes, as there’s no music at schools any more. We’re gonna get friends, other musicians, to come in."

It comes after Birmingham honoured former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy a few months ago, naming the giant robotic bull from last summer’s Commonwealth Games after him when it was installed at its permanent home in New Street station.

Last week, LA-based Ozzy – who has Parkinson’s and needed a series of spinal operations after a 2019 fall – said he hopes to record and tour again.

He told Metal Hammer magazine: "I’m getting myself fit. I want to do one more album and go back on the road. I’ve had all the surgery now. I can’t walk properly yet but I’m not in pain any more."
