ESPN cameras captured the Giants head coach venting his frustration by flipping a tablet to the ground following a conversation with Jones on the bench. Based on the camera angle, it did not appear that Jones provided much of an explanation for the costly turnover.

He previously fumbled on a strip sack early in the game, which the Seahawks capitalized on by scoring a touchdown. After the game, Daboll was asked what he was trying to show and tell Jones after the interception. He responded, "I was trying to show and see what he thought. Then I told him what I saw. I'm not going to get into [the] particulars of it. We just didn't get the job done."
Witherspoon finished the game with seven tackles, two sacks, and a 97-yard interception. When asked about his analysis of his team's defensive success, the rookie cornerback alluded to the poor play of Jones. "We were just trusting the game plan that coach laid out for us," said Witherspoon to media on the field. "We know he [Jones] likes to stare down the first target, so he had his back turned, and a lot of guys won their one one-on-one matchups up front."
In March, Jones signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Giants, which positioned him as one of the top 10 highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL at the time of signing. The contract commits Jones to the organization through the 2026 season and includes $82 million in total guarantees, with the potential for up to an additional $35 million in incentives.
