Orlando Bloom lands Peppa Pig role for special episode in sweet career shake-up
Orlando Bloom is set to add Peppa Pig to his impressive resumé of film and TV credits.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star has signed up for the role of a jeweller on a new episode of the animated British children's series, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year.
The three-part-special will see the cheeky Peppa and her loyal friends prepare for the first-ever wedding to feature on the beloved show, after it's announced that long-time partners Mr Bull and Mrs Cow are tying the knot. In an dramatic twist, however, the bovine couple is planning to marry just one day after sharing the news of their engagement - giving everyone in the town less than 24 hours to prepare for the romantic event.

The Troy star's vocals will be heard alongside those of his wife, musician Katy Perry, who was announced last week as the voice of dressmaker Ms. Leopard in the highly-anticipated episode. A book titled Peppa Goes to a Wedding to accompany the special will also be published by Penguin next year.
Speaking about Orlando's casting, Olivier Dumont, president of eOne’s family brands, said: “It is such an honour to have Orlando Bloom bring his talents to Peppa Pig in this exciting wedding-themed special. Orlando is an extraordinary actor, dad and philanthropist, and we’re proud to have him join the Peppa roster just in time to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary next year."

A sneak peek of Orlando's Mr Racoon has already been shared on Peppa Pig's official Instagram account, much to the excitement of fans. "OINKTASTIC news! @orlandobloom will be the voice of Mr Raccoon in a Peppa Pig special next year!" reads the caption of the post, which shows a smiling cartoon racoon wearing a purple sweater vest and a red bowtie.
A picture of Katy's assigned character, Ms Leopard, has also been shared on the profile. The decision to have the American singer voice the spotty wild cat, who's dressed in a purple frock, appears to be a nod to her hit 2012 song, Roar.
"As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms. Leopard," Dumont said in a press statement last week. "Reaching this brand milestone of two decades and being able to work with outstanding talent like Katy is a testament to the worldwide success of Peppa Pig and her ability to deliver entertainment no fans will want to miss."
