Mariah Carey 'furious' reaction over Cher's career decision branded 'pathetic'
Mariah Carey has reportedly been left furious after Cher announced her plans for a Christmas album.
Mariah, 54, is undeniably known as the Queen of Christmas pop thanks to the decades-long success of her hit track All I Want For Christmas Is You. The 1994 single release has been a constant earner for Mariah over the years but now Mariah is allegedly fuming that Cher has dared to try and steal some of her festive glory according to the National Enquirer.
Cher, 77, has teased fans with the release already and now an insider has labelled Mariah's response to the news "pathetic." They told the outlet: "It's pretty pathetic because Cher hasn't said a word against her, but Mariah's been trashing Cher for daring to put out a Christmas album."

They then added how her anger stems around the money she makes off her Christmas hit every year with the track earning her over $70 million since it's release 29 years ago. The track is still making her an estimated $1.2 million every year.

She truly seems to think she owns the holiday." Mariah was previously thought to be left angered when rival Christina Aguilera released her holiday album My Kind of Christmas in October 2000.
The source noted that Cher wouldn't be phased by Mariah's antics adding: "Anytime another artist, especially a female, releases a Christmas album, Mariah throws a hissy fit. Someone like Christina will give it right back to her, but Cher's way past that. Cher has got to be laughing out loud."
They also referred to the grievance as a "one-sided feud and Mariah is making herself miserable over it!" It seems unlikely that anyone could rival Mariah's 415 million views and 4.5 million likes on YouTube for her Christmas hit so she likely has nothing to worry about in the first place.
Cher meanwhile has been accused of having her own son kidnapped amid his divorce battle. It has been claimed she hired four men to kidnap Elijah Blue Allman in late 2022.
The iconic pop star has seen the allegations come to light after they were detailed in court documents filed on December 5 2022 which have recently surfaced due to ongoing divorce proceedings between Elijah and his wife Marie King. Elijah filed for divorce from her in 2021.
Marie, 36, has now claimed that Cher paid four men to remove Elijah, 47, from their New York hotel room on November 30 2022 when they were trying to "reconcile" their marriage on their wedding anniversary. The singer was apparently concerned for his welfare at the time.
