Jonnie Irwin shares details of ‘perfect’ anniversary night with ‘angel’ wife
Jonnie Irwin has celebrated his seventh wedding anniversary with wife Jessica Holmes - sharing a highlight from their “perfect” evening together with fans.
The 49-year-old television presenter has been married to 40-year-old Jessica since 2016 and together the share three children; a four-year-old son called Rex, and three-year-old twin boys named Rafa and Cormac. In November last year, Jonnie revealed he had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and he has been bravely battling the disease ever since - while embracing the time he has with his wife and family.
On Saturday, Jonnie and Jessica went to a Michelin starred restaurant for a romantic meal, where they enjoyed some alone time together. And taking to Instagram on Sunday, the TV star shared a snapshot from their night, showing him and his wife say opposite each other preparing to enjoy a dessert.
Sharing the image online, Jonnie added the following caption: “7 years married to this Angel. I use this term because the love she shows to others is beyond comparison. Last night was just us; chatting, planning and gossiping. So good. Amazing food and staff at @lovagejesmond made our evening perfect. #anniversary.”
His post drew attention from social media followers - with A Place in the Sun star Jasmine Harman among those reactingto the post. She wrote: "Gosh 7 years! I remember your wedding day like yesterday! Lots of love to you both and Happy Anniversary." Fellow A Place in the Sun host Amanda Lamb also responded, writing: "Happiest of days to you both you gorgeous pair" alongside three red heart emojis.

While many other fans flooded the comments section of the post with warm wishes and heartfelt messages.
One fan replying to the image wrote: "Happy Anniversary to such a beautiful couple. Jonnie you look great" alongside a heart covered face emoji. And another wrote: "Congrats it’s so nice to hear your comments expressed so well. Glad you enjoyed your evening!"
Last month, TV fans were delighted when Jonnie made his long-awaited return to screens to present a show for the first time since his diagnosis. He featured on the BBC’s Escape to the Country - and he was very pleased to be part of the show.
Highlighting his appearance at the time, Jonnie wrote online: “Good news to start the week, there’s a brand new episode of @escape_country airing tomorrow on @bbcone at 3 pm and it’s one of mine! I head down to Somerset and look at some fantastic rural properties in some beautiful locations. Plus I also get to visit a cider farm- perks of the job. Hope you enjoy!”
