Sir Tom Jones was "nearly knocked out" by a rapper in an awkward bathroom encounter.

The legendary Welsh singer had a run in with Professor Green in a rather embarrassing situation. Stephen Manderson, best known as Professor Green, has opened up on the moment that left him red faced. The singer and TV personality has worked with the likes of Lily Allen, Emeli Sande and Example over the years.

Professor Green remains highly embarrassed when recalling his meeting with Delilah hitmaker Tom Jones. Opening up on the moment, he said: "I once nearly knocked Tom Jones out with a toilet door. It was at what used to be Music Bank but the rehearsal studios and he went to pull the door open as I pushed it.

"He's pulling and I'm pushing and then I said something really stupid and I was like 'You're Tom Jones' he pretty much just chuckled and walked away," he told the Daily Star. Earlier this year, Professor Green recalled the terrifying moment he almost died after suffering from a seizure. The dad-of-one, 39, smashed his head onto steel and concrete and convulsed for eight minutes while home alone in April 2022 - leaving the star with facial injuries and dealing with "the bruising internally".

The rapper poignantly told his fans how he "nearly lost my family, my family then nearly lost me" and encouraged others to "deal with sh**" and look after themselves. "I had a grand mal seizure while home alone, fell face down into steel and concrete and convulsed for 8 minutes repeatedly hitting my head and face - I’ve never watched the cctv. The bruising internally was more the issue and I’ve been clawing my way back ever since."

The I Need You Tonight singer went on to add: "It was caused by a culmination of things, but largely I’d not been taking care of myself, the opposite in fact. I nearly lost my family, my family then nearly lost me." He concluded with: "Deal with sh**. If you don’t, it’ll deal with you."

The star - who was once married to Made In Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh - also opened up about how he's adapted to life as a father since the arrival of his son in 2021. "I look at Slimane sometimes and wonder if he sees through my smile, on one hand I’m faced with the most beautiful little joyous being, on the other I’m faced with my every shortcoming - the want for your child to flourish and be better than you ever were or can be, the feeling of not being enough," the star told his followers on his Instagram page, The Unlikely Dads Club.
