MAFS UK viewers in 'tears' over Ella's speech at dinner party about being trans
Married At First Sight UK viewers were in tears after watching the 'amazing' speech Ella Morgan gave at the dinner party about being transgender.
Fans were introduced to Ella, 29, earlier this season when she married openly pansexual events manager Nathanial Valentino, 36, at a gorgeous wedding - with him later finding out she is transgender. And while sparks seemed to fly between the pair on their wedding day, their romance soon took a downward spiral after the pair landed in Mexico for their honeymoon.
On Wednesday evening, all the couples attended the very first dinner party of the series where drama quickly unfolded between certain partners. However, they all came together as a supportive family when Nathanial announced Ella wanted to give a quick speech to everyone at the table.
Ella gave a touching speech at the dinner party (E4)"When I was born, I appeared very different to how I do today," she said to the guests. "My mum gave birth to four boys, three brothers, and then me. My mom asked me when I was younger if I was gay, and I said, 'No Mom, I am a woman.' She said, 'You want to be a girl?' I said, 'No. I am a girl.'
"I've never questioned who I am. I've always known I'm Ella inside. We all have struggles in life. Most people just never have to question their identity or their gender. I don't expect you guys to understand or get me. All I ask is that you respect me and treat me as the person I am. I'm not ashamed to stand here as an openly transgender woman, where there's so much negative stigma about trans people."

Fans were in tears listening to her words (E4)Ella added: "Now that my outside and it's a very sexy outside matches my inside, I stand in front of you all as an openly trans woman, but more importantly, I stand here is Ella and all I want to do is be seen and treated as the girl that I am, finally." The couples cheered and clapped for the nurse after she concluded her touching speech.
They all got up to comfort Ella and give her hugs. Meanwhile, viewers at home were equally as proud and emotional after watching her speech on their screens. Fans rushed to the comment section to discuss the moment, with one user writing: "Ella’s speech was so amazing I had tears, it took so much for her to do that and Nathaniel had his hand on her back the whole time."
Another fan added: "Ella is such a beautiful and important soul, love her," while one user commented: "Seeing the support at the table is lovely! She shouldn't have to make a statement about her being trans. But we live in such a hostile media environment that it feels necessary and lovely."
"Ella I'm so proud of you," one viewer tweeted while a fan continued: "Everyone being so supportive for Ella is exactly what we needed to see." One loved watching the supportive group and said: "Ella is so brave for standing up and giving that speech which she didn’t owe anyone. I love to see everyone surrounding her with support."
