Dancing With the Stars fans claim the dancing competition is emerging from it's "Tyra flop era" as they praise outgoing new host professional dancer Julianne Hough.

As ABC's DWTS premieres for its first highly anticipated 32nd season on air fans showered new hosts Julianne Hough and returning host Alfonso Ribeiro with love on social media.

They said the new hosting team were a breath of fresh air for the show following former host Tyra Banks' exit. The supermodel joined DWTS back in 2020 and hosted three seasons of the show but confirmed earlier this year that she was not going to be hosting the 2023 series.

Fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to Julianne's debut on the show with many loving the positive, upbeat energy she has brought to the show as she welcomed all the new contestants to the competition.

One fan tweeted: "I know it’s only episode one but I can already tell that #dwts will be emerging from its Tyra Banks flop era." Another wrote: "So glad the show is back on regular TV and elated to have #AlfonsoRibeiro and #JulianneHough hosting. I could not watch when Tyra Banks hosted. Well done @alydenisof you did awesome."

And a third viewer writing: "Losing Tyra, on the other hand, was a massive win. #dwts" with another responding: "I will miss making fun of her."

Julianne made her debut on the iconic dance competition television series as a professional dancer back in season 4 in 2007 when she was only 18 years old. Julianne has tackled all roles on the hit series including participating as a professional dancer from seasons 4 through 8, as a guest judge in season 17, as a permanent judge on the show from season 19 to 24, and now at 35 she has returned for the 32nd season as a co-host.

In a statement obtained by Good Morning America, Julianne said: "The show holds such a special place in my heart from the many years and different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of. The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years."

As for former host Tyra, she revealed earlier this year to TMZ that she would not be returning to host this year. She said: "I think it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor… from the ballroom to the boardroom. I’m an entrepreneur at heart… I think my heart, my soul, is into my business, it’s also into producing new TV."

"Dancing with the Stars" will air this fall on ABC and Disney+, and will stream the next day on Hulu.
