Meghan Markle and Prince Harry presented an award to actor Kevin Costner at an One805 charity fundraiser.

While on stage for the event, fans pointed out an awkward encounter for the Duke and Duchess. The former royals seemed to get a harsh snub as they stepped up towards the podium. When Harry was being handed a microphone, he shooed it away from himself and towards his wife. However, they didn't actually give it to her.

A fan on Twitter scolded Harry's actions. They wrote: "Prince Harry is such a milquetoast. He acts like he has no home training. If the host hands you the mic you do not hand it to your wife. Grow a pair man. Harry’s wife is unlikable and no speech is going to change that."

A royal commentator on YouTube, Murky Meg, broke down the moment in a play-by-play. As Meghan and Harry walked to their places, a woman walked by with a microphone in hand, but when Meghan reached for it, the woman walked straight past her. The commentator said: "You can see the realisation on her ace that 'oh yeah, its not for me.'"

The pair awkwardly make their way centre-stage which is why Harry motions for Meghan to receive a mic. When Meghan is further denied the chance to speak, the air seems to be filled with an uncomfortable tension.

The YouTube commentator describes Meghan's reaction as a 'narcissistic mask slip'. They said: "It's almost like a slap in the face for a narcissist to be put in their place. Well, it is really. They do not like to... have control taken away from them. And we see it time and time again with Meghan. The mask sometimes slips and the element of anger comes out."

Kevin's event took place at his private estate and the guest list was packed with A-listers. The non-profit aims to support first responders by listening to their needs. California first responder leaders sit on the organisation's advisory board, so the non-profit is able to hear first hand how to help. To date, they have dispersed $1.6million (£1.4million) including an annual $144,000 (£118,000) for firefighter counselling.
