Tiny home inside 'luxurious' shipping container goes on market – for £75,000

A shipping container in Stratford the width of one double bed has just gone on the highly-competitive London housing market – for £75,000.

The tiny home fits a sofa, cooking area, double bed, and bathroom, in what the estate agents describe as a “testament to luxurious living”. Photos show the double bed taking up the entire width of the container, which is neatly furnished with plants and modern furniture. The small home claims to be a “pinnacle of sustainable living”, using low energy and with ESG compliance.

But it will certainly be a tight squeeze for the buyer and the freehold property doesn’t offer much room for any personal additions, such as a TV or a space to work - which isn’t the dining table. Despite this, estate agents iad UK describe the property as an “unparalleled living experience” providing a “rejuvenating atmosphere that enhances your well-being”.

Located on Pudding Mill Lane right by West Ham’s London Stadium, the container has strong transport links with Pudding Mill Lane DLR and Bow Road Underground stations both walkable. With the average London first-home deposit currently at a whopping £125,378, the container may provide a viable cheaper alternative.

Currently, according to estate agency Hamptons, Londoners earning an average age have to move 25 miles out of the capital to afford their first home, MailOnline reported. But the size of the container is likely to put many Londoners off who may want to live in more spacious conditions.
