This is the heart-stopping moment a British daredevil climbed aboard the roof of a Parisian train to get the ultimate view of the Eiffel Tower.

Daring Lewis Felix has ridden the rails, on the train roof that is, in many countries around the world. But the 27-year-old risk taker and his friends pushed themselves to the limits on a holiday to Paris. Lewis, from Manchester, shared a clip of his daring adventure on Instagram (@air.addiction), where the post has gathered 367,000 likes.

"I've train surfed many times in many countries - this one is pretty simple," said Lewis, who runs a performance car workshop. "However, if you don't lay completely flat as it comes into the station, it's game over as there is only 1ft of clearance between the train and the station."

Lewis and his friends can be seen jumping onto the top of a train as it leaves the station. The group then gets up and stands on the roof of the train as it passes the Eiffel Tower, capturing the most amazing view. They can then be spotted coming back to a stop when they jump off the train and run out of the station.

The video clip prompted plenty of awe along fans who were quick to comment. Noah said: "Bro is playing Subway surfers." Someone else commented: "A real adrenaline rush." Another fan added: "Woahh I wanna do this so bad but I am fully aware you've made it look easy!"

However not everyone was impressed. "Why women live longer," Lisa joked. "You absolute mentalists! Love it," added Maddy."Got some balls hahaha go on lads," said someone else. Lewis added: "Train surfing isn't my main focus, I do parkour, urbex, and a lot of rooftop climbs. Train surfing is clearly risky, but we do all the research and prepping we can to make it as safe as possible."

Train surfing, also known as tram surfing or subway surfing, is the act of riding on the exterior parts of a moving train. It is illegal, dangerous and has already claimed hundreds of lives. However in poorer parts of the world train surfing is a common and usual way to ride trains.

In countries such as Bangladesh, India and South Africa this type of riding by trains is often seen due to the high population density and severe overcrowding of trains. According to Wikipedia Brazil and South Africa have seen the most deaths from train surfing or "subway surfing" as it is also called with 100 deaths apiece. There have been six deaths in the UK.
