Liverpool will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they take on West Ham at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently sat third in the league. They began the season by drawing against Chelsea, before picking up four straight wins over Bournemouth, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves.

Liverpool also kicked off their Europa League campaign on Thursday with a 3-1 win against LASK. Mohamed Salah was among the goalscorers in Austria, equalling an impressive record in the process, while goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was afforded a rare start.

Harvey Elliott has also been speaking about his new role at the club. Here are the biggest talking points coming out of Anfield ahead of today's game against the Hammers.

Salah equals Henry record

Mohamed Salah's goal against LASK was his 42nd in Champions League or Europa League football for Liverpool, meaning no other player has scored more goals in a major European competition for an English club.

Gunners legend Thierry Henry currently sits level with Salah, having also scored 42 goals in Europe during his time at Arsenal, but it seems almost certain the Egyptian will overtake him one day. And that could happen very soon, with Liverpool guaranteed to play at least five more Europa League games this season.

Manager Klopp also enjoyed a record of his own, with the victory over LASK his 50th win in Europe while in charge of the Reds. He is the first Liverpool manager to ever achieve such a feat.

Elliott's new role

Despite only being 20-years-old, Harvey Elliott is now one of the more experienced players in Liverpool's midfield with only Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara making more appearances for the Reds than him.

And while Elliott admits his newfound status is 'a tough one to get my head around', he is relishing the responsibility of helping Liverpool's four new midfielders settle in. He said: "It's a tough one to get my head around, being so young! But we know we all need to play our part.

"We want to step up this season and take responsibility and that's exactly what I'm trying to do each and every game. I'm trying to put in the performances and put the hard work in for the team and help others around me, try to bring them up if they are feeling down."

Kelleher sends Klopp message

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has told Klopp he wants more game time after making his first competitive appearance in almost four months against LASK.

Kelleher was linked with a move away from Anfield this summer in pursuit of more regular action, with the likes of Brentford and Tottenham said to be interested in his services and Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny admitting he 'fully expected' the 24-year-old to leave. However, a move never materialised with Klopp saying it would take an 'extraordinary offer' for Liverpool to sell.

Speaking after the win over LASK, Kelleher admitted he felt a 'bit of rustiness' and spoke of his desire to play more. "It's my first competitive game since Southampton," he told club media. "Same as outfielders, there's always that bit of rustiness. It was nice to get out there and hopefully I can play a few more games in this competition."
