Lucy Watson has opened up about her 'miracle' pregnancy, admitting that there were times she thought she'd never conceive after seeing 'many specialists over the years'.

The Made in Chelsea star announced that she was expecting her first child with husband James Dunmore on Thursday, taking to Instagram to share of summery photo of her showing off her pregnant belly.

It didn't take long for the 32-year-old's devout followers to react to the joyous update, with many taking to the comment section below to congratulate the couple and parents-to-be.

It was the caption of the photo, however, which read, 'Our little miracle', that prompted a surge of interest from Lucy's fans.

The vegan cookbook author took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to address a number of questions about her conception, after many followers asked if she and James had had issues with fertility in the past.

"I genuinely believe every baby is a miracle, but yes, we did have struggles," she admitted. "I think we went into it like most, thinking it would happen easily." The reality TV star goes on to explain that "wasn't the case" for them, and that "there were times when it felt like bad news after bad news." In a particularly poignant part of her update, Lucy recalled that their journey to conceive was "never ending" and that "the light at the end of the tunnel felt faint." After seeing 'many specialists', she admits she began to think she'd never be able to experience pregnancy.

Lucy also hinted that their child will be born in either late February or in March, adding, "We are a expecting a little pisces baby."

As for if she's having a girl or a boy, she and James have yet to find out the gender but "will definitely share at some point." In another post on her Stories, Lucy, who has been vegan since 2015, confirmed that she would raise her future child to hold the same ethics.

As for pregnancy sickness, Lucy revealed that the first trimester was particularly hard on her body.

"I think I was nauseous/throwing up until about 14 weeks," she said. "Everything and I mean EVERYTHING made me sick." The situation was so bad that she could only 'stomach apples and crackers', leading her to joke that her baby 'may come out looking' like an apple.

Lucy first shot to fame in 2012 after joining the cast of Made in Chelsea, arriving on to the scene as a self-described "controversial character." She decided to leave the E4 show in 2016, however, after realising that it was holding her back from enjoying a happy personal life and pursuing other projects. "I realised you can't really be in a happy relationship on that show," she told former MIC co-star Jamie Laing on his podcast Private Parts in January 2023.

"At that point I was quite serious with James so I was like, 'Actually I value this more'," she said. "Plus the controlling side of [the show], where you couldn't do other work, really annoyed me because I really wanted to do loads more."
