Chantelle Houghton has been spotted out and about ahead of the TV show that made her a household name returning to our screens on ITV.

The Big Brother legend, 40, cut a casual figure as she enjoyed a bar of Snickers while enjoying a potter through Brentwood Essex earlier this week. Chantelle, who recently said she wouldn't be up for heading back into the Big Brother house for a third time, looked naturally beautiful as she ran some errands without a scrap of makeup on.

The snaps of Chantelle come as ITV prepare to reboot Big Brother after the original reality TV show's break off-air, with Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Odudu and Will Best confirmed as the new hosts of the upcoming series.

Earlier this year, Chantelle shared her one regret from her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2006 - admitting the faux pas still "haunts" her to this very day. The mum-of-one, who shares her daughter with Alex Reid, made reality TV history when she entered the house as a non-celebrity with the task of convincing her famous housemates she was a well known pop singer.

Chantelle successfully managed to fools stars like Pete Burns, Jodi Marsh and Michael Barrymore into thinking that she was famous and part of a girl group called Kandy Floss. Not only that, the non-celebrity contestant went on to win the fourth series of Celebrity Big Brother, nabbing a cool £25,000 in the process, and found love with her housemate, The Ordinary Boys frontman Samuel Preston.

While Chantelle, who was just 22 when she met and fell for Preston, admits meeting her no ex-husband was the highlight of her time in the Big Brother house, the reality TV star wasn't too happy about her appearance during her time on the Channel 4 show - previously confessing her hair during the series was a low point for her.

When asked by OK! magazine in August if there is anything she'd change about her experience on the show, a now 40-year-old Chantelle confessed: "My hair extensions that I went in with were just awful. Absolutely awful, I thought I looked amazing, I thought my hair was amazing".

Looking on the bright side of her youthful hair disaster, Chantelle added: "It was the look at the time, along with the orange lipstick. But that influenced a lot of girls out there who still talk to me about it now". The star went on to add how the experience was a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

Chantelle also touched on if she'd be up for reentering the Big Brother house when it makes its big ITV return soon, admitting it wouldn't really be something she'd consider. She told OK! magazine: "I took quite a long break and stepped back from the public eye due to personal reasons. That time was quite horrific and I’m now concentrating on getting my life back together."

However, she was keen to encourage others to go on the show, saying: "Definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, it’s such a great experience. It’s four weeks of fun, twists and turns, no bills to pay. You get fed, watered and a roof over your head, so 100 per cent I would."

After Chantelle was crowned a Big Brother winner, the Essex native went on to enjoy a successful career as an actual bonafide celebrity and appeared on shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Weakest Link, Hotel Babylon, in addition to landing big brand deals and working with animal charity PETA.

The mum-of-one also continued her relationship with Preston on the outside world, with the then happy couple tying the knot in August 2006. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be and the pair called it quits and split just nine months on from marrying. The former couple said in a statement announcing the news at the time: "We hope we can always remain friends and still love each other but we both think we put so much pressure on one another to make our marriage work that it has ended up destroying our relationship. No one else is involved in our decision." Their divorce was finalised in November 2007.

Despite divorcing, Chantelle and Preston have managed to stay friends over the years, with the mum-of-one revealing last month how she and her ex-husband "still talk, we’ll send messages to each other about funny things we remember. We’re really, really good friends."

Chantelle re-entered the Big Brother house for Ultimate Big Brother, following the conclusion of Big Brother 2010, and was joined on the show with her ex-husband Preston. During her time in the house for Channel 4's Big Brother swansong, Chantelle got the (fictional) band back together and performed a Kandy Floss track with two of her housemates. She finished Ultimate Big Brother in third place, behind Nikki Grahame and winner Brian Dowling.

Following her split from Preston, Chantelle dated TV presenter Rav Wilding briefly, before going on to find love with Katie Price's ex-husband Alex Reid. Chantelle and Alex announced they were expecting their first child together in November 2011, with daughter Dolly arriving on June 7 2012, but the pair split just a few months on from Chantelle giving birth.

In August this year, Chantelle revealed she is currently happily single and enjoying life raising her now 10-year-old daughter Dolly. She told OK! magazine: "“I’m not looking, but I’m not ‘not looking’ either. I’m the happiest I’ve been in everything, so I’m not searching for a man to fix me like I might have done years ago. I’m just happy with me.

"Previously if I went on a date, I’d think, ‘Does he really like me?’ but now I think, ‘Do I like him?’ And that shows how much I’ve grown. I know what I want and what I don’t want. I’m now at a place where I’m really comfortable with me."
