The BBC’s reality show about the Osbournes is not a reunion of their groundbreaking hit Noughties TV series.

Sharon and Ozzy’s son Jack has hit out at the BBC for dressing up new show Home To Roost as a return of the rock family antics. He will not be appearing as a regular in the 10-part series which films between Los Angeles and their Buckinghamshire mansion.

Jack exclusively tells The Mirror: “As far as Home to Roost. It's weird because the press announcement on that was very deceiving. It's kind of a reunion, but it's more of a documentary, so I don't know. I'm very not involved in it. When they're filming at my parents' house, they're like, 'Hey, can you come over for a minute?' I'll come over and I'm like, 'Hi', and then I leave. So, it's kind of a weird one.”

However Jack says that The Osbournes are united for their family podcasts. “We are doing the Osborne's podcast, so that's keeping us kind of occupied. For the time being.”

Jack, who spoke whole promoting Fox US's new show Special Forces. He is also excited for more travel shows and keen to explore ghosts and extraterrestrials. "I love doing the paranormal stuff. It's kind of like my bread and butter at this point.” Asked if he believes in outer space visitors being on earth, he laughed: “Never seen an alien, but I've definitely seen some weird s*** in the sky. Definitely been like, what the hell is that?"

Last year Ozzy revealed he feared his two children were going to die during the intensity of filming their famous MTV series - just as he let BBC cameras back into their lives. Ozzy called time on the original four season long MTV series as it led Kelly and Jack to addictions, anxiety and issues with drugs and alcohol. The rock icon admitted he didn't want to appear in the BBC 10 part series Home To Roost as the experience still haunts him 20 years on.

Looking at his life in reality, Ozzy said: "I am not sorry I did it. But after three or four years I said: 'Do you know what, we are going to lose somebody because It is getting too crazy in there.' There is rock and roll fame which is pretty intense, but that Osbourne level was just unbelievable. The kids paid for it. They all ended up doing drugs. Jack got clean and sober on that show Kelly messed up on that show, I was messed up and Sharon got cancer."

He added of the strain: "I don't know how The Kardashians have done it for so long, it sent us crazy at the end."

Ozzy says he is doing the show to help his wife Sharon and aid her efforts to recover from the scandal of being axed from US TV series The Talk amid claims of racism. "My wife sort of dropped something on me that the BBC are doing the Osbournes returning to England. I said we are not having all that again," he said.

"But she said it is only for a bit. It gave Sharon a new career. She has become the television person in our family. Poor old Sharon. She’s been through the mill of it. All I can tell you if my wife was slightly racist I would tell you, she’s possibly the most unracist person I’ve ever met. I am not just saying that. I mean it’s still an unpleasant issue. It’s one of them things once you’re accused of it, people tar you with that brush and it’s very hard to shake off. This is another bump in the road we will get through this. She was devastated. She was like, ‘why are they saying this about me?'"
