Great British Bake Off 2023 teaser released as Alison Hammond joins the show
The Great British Bake Off is just days away from returning to our screens with the new addition to the team - This Morning's Alison Hammond.
The hugely anticipated show, which is set to make a splash on 26 September, has released a teaser clip online showing the banter between Noel Fielding and his new partner in crime, Alison. Within the 40 second clip which was posted on YouTube on 18 September, it shows the highs and lows of the contestants as judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood analyse their baking skills and mark them accordingly. In one brief scene, one of the contestants said: "Oh my gosh its real!" While another said: "It's heavenly."
Excitement over the new series has been gathering pace over the last few days after the show's official account posted a nessage on Twitter on 13 September saying: "Bake a date in your diaries. Join Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison on Tuesday 26th September for the return of The Great British Bake Off. #GBBO."
And the show's die hard fans were quick to respond, One wrote: "Just cried actual tears." Another said: "Yay I am ready!" A third wrote: "YAAAAAAAAASSSSS." Earlier this year Alison was announced as Matt Lucas' replacement on the hit Channel 4 show. Alison confirmed speculation when she took to Twitter in March this year saying: "It’s Official!! It’s happening The Great British Bake off! let’s have it – The cake that is so excited @BritishBakeOff @Channel4 @PrueLeith @PaulHollywood @noelfielding11 #GBBO."
Alison landed the sought after presenting role after she wowed bosses following her stint on the show in 2020 for Stand Up 2 Cancer. Alison competed against other contenders during her time on the iconic show, such ass Strictly Come Dancing star Joe Sugg, Alex Jones and singer James Blunt.

Alison said: "I do think that good food and good baking comes from the heart - and I’ve got a lot of heart.” Never one to shy away from self praise, she jokingly added: "I love chocolate brownies. Any time I go out and about, try a brownie, it never compares to my brownies. I know that sounds really big headed.”
She then said: "Oh my god, this is just going so well. Things are just running so smooth for me, this is actually boring TV. I’m literally a natural baker - and a natural eater as well.” Presenting her brownies for the judges to try, Alison left them in a fit of giggles when she said: "You know when people have dogs that look like them? Well, this is a traybake that looks like me."
And Prue was very quick to acknowledge Alison's amazing confidence. The This Morning co-host became a household name in 2002 when she appeared on Big Brother. Soon after being evicted from the third series, she became This Morning's roving reporter and has stayed on the show ever since.
