A truck driver accused of murdering his teen girlfriend by crushing her against a lamppost has told a jury that he lied about a hit-and-run because he "panicked".

Police investigating the rape of a British-born Sikh woman in a racially aggravated attack in the West Midlands have renewed their appeal for public assistance as they released a man on bail.

The victim, reported to be a British-born Sikh in her 20s, informed officers that a racist remark was directed at her during the attack in the Tame Road area of Oldbury on Tuesday morning, which was reported to West Midlands Police just before 8:30 am.

A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital with stab wounds and another teenager, 15, has been arrested.

The force stated that two teens were arrested on Sunday in connection with the fatal stabbing in Oldbury, West Midlands, last Thursday and are currently being questioned in custody.
