Former Labour MP Mike Amesbury has admitted assault by beating after a video showed him punching a man in the face on the street.

Suspended Labour MP Mike Amesbury has been charged with assault after a video appeared to show him ‘punching’ one of his constituents in Cheshire.

The video showed the MP for Runcorn and Helsby punching a man, who fell to the floor. Mr Amesbury then hit him repeatedly before members of the public intervened.
