Andy Burnham’s father Roy has died, with the Prime Minister cancelling his meetings today and tomorrow, Downing Street has said.

The former Manchester United midfielder headed a football around 140,000 times during his career. An inquest into his death heard he died with severe dementia, as well as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which has been linked to trauma from heading a ball.
