Man caught having sex on easyJet flight 'banned from flying with airline'

A man who had joined the Mile High Club on an easyJet flight claims he has now been banned from travelling with the airline.

Piers Sawyer, 23, was filmed in an uncompromising position with a woman in the lavatory of the plane on September 7. He had only met the 23-year-old woman after they boarded the plane at Luton Airport but, early into the journey to party island Ibiza, enjoyed a fumble at 33,000ft.

Although his mum Elaine, 51, was "mortified" by her son's antics, Piers "didn’t really care" - largely as he had been drinking heavily before the flight - and hoped he'd see the woman again. That didn't happen and Piers claimed he was banned from flying back with easyJet after the four-night break with his brother Harrison, 25, and two friends.

Instead, Piers shelled out £360 for he and his brother to fly to Stansted Airport with Tui and get an Uber home to Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Speaking from there today, Piers said: "When we got back to the airport, easyJet told us we could no longer fly with them."

The young man's illicit encounter with the woman came around 40 minutes into the journey to Ibiza after he had been chatting to her and her friend on the plane. Piers, who services cars, conceded he was intoxicated at the time, though, as he and Harrison had been drinking since 10am. Their flight was at 7pm the same day.

Speaking to The Sun, Piers said: "It must have been 40 minutes into the flight when the idea came up and we just went for it. There were two flight attendants by the toilets, and I’m pretty sure they saw us walk in."

He said he last saw the woman at baggage reclaim in Ibiza and, though he didn't get her number, he "thought about the girl" during his holiday. Piers added he had no further romantic encounters during the getaway.

The video, in which Piers and the woman are caught in an uncompromising position in the loo, has been viewed millions of times on social media. A steward opened the toilet door amid the fumble, it is understood.

Elaine, who is a former model, said she is embarrassed by Piers' behaviour. Speaking yesterday, Elaine said: "You just don’t think about stuff sometimes. Yes it’s embarrassing but I don’t think they were doing anyone any harm." In his defence, the mum suggested Piers may have been caught up in the party atmosphere.

The Mirror has tonight contacted easyJet for comment regarding Piers' claims. A spokesperson for the airline previously said: "We can confirm that this flight from Luton to Ibiza on 8 September was met by police on arrival due to the behaviour of two passengers onboard."
