Hugh Jackman and Deborah-Lee has admitted they are going their separate ways

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced that they are splitting up after 27 years of marriage after last being seen together in July.

The pair were photographed together enjoying a day watching the 2023 Wimbledon Championships on July 16. In the photo, they both appear focused on the tennis match before them. Deborra-Lee sported tinted sunglasses, leaving it difficult to read her expression. Hugh, on the other hand, had a serious expression as he took in the action.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee both dressed up a little for the occasion with Hugh wearing a dark navy suit jacket and matching trousers. Additionally, he wore a white undershirt and his hair and beard were well-groomed.

His wife wore her bleached hair pulled back, exposing gold hooped earrings. She, too, wore a grey t-shirt and added a long white lightweight jacket. At one point, the couple stood up in excitement to gaze more intently at the tense match. While Deborra-Lee appeared more carefree, Hugh appeared more glum and reserved throughout the match.

Their official statement about their separation emphasised kindness towards each other. They said: "We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

In the statement to PEOPLE, they added: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

Hugh and Deborra-Lee emphasised that they will not be making further comments and that this release is their "sole statement" on the topic. Not much is known regrading the context of the split or if it will result in a filed divorce.

It's safe to say the pair had a whirlwind romance. When the duo met in 1995, they had their first date only two weeks later and Hugh popped the question within four months. Their marriage happened less than a year and they then turned their attention towards having children. Deborra-Lee welcomed a baby boy and the couple adopted their second child, a daughter.
