Great Britain and Switzerland will face off in the Davis Cup for the first time since 2005 on Friday afternoon.
Two decades ago it was Roger Federer leading the Swiss to victory, assisted by Stan Wawrinka, who would go on to become a three-time Grand Slam winner himself. Wawrinka is still part of the furniture in the Swiss team and remains their highest ranked player.
They will have a tough time against the Brits though with Cam Norrie, Dan Evans and Andy Murray all ranked inside the world's top 50. The two nations will square off in the Finals Group Stage in Manchester.
Both countries have won the Davis Cup previously but they have met just four times in the tournament’s 123-year history. The Brits currently lead the head-to-head 3-1, but haven't won since 1985.
Norries, Evans and, particularly, Murray have all shown themselves capable of going deep into Grand Slams. Evans recently showed glimpses of his brilliance in his US Open defeat to Carlos Alcaraz, taking a set of the champion Spaniard. Jack Draper meanwhile, who is still ranked outside the top 100, enjoyed a stellar showing in New York.

The 21-year-old made the fourth round at Flushing Meadows, beating the big serving seeded Pole Hurbert Hurkacz en route, eventually getting knocked out by eighth seed Andrey Rublev.
Great Britain and Switzerland head into Friday’s tie at opposite ends of the group after the opening day. The Brits secured an impressive 2-1 win over 2022 runners-up and second seeds Australia, while the Swiss were well beaten by the French.
Great Britain boast three of the world's top 50Draper said after his opening win: "I'm playing for my country and had to put everything out on the line - usually I'm playing for myself. There is nothing better. It was a real battle, it is amazing to play my first Davis Cup tie in the UK and I'm grateful to be here. I'm so happy (captain) Leon trusted me and put me out here."
