EastEnders icon Cheryl Fergison begs fans for help in alarming husband update
Cheryl Fergison begged for help as she shared heartbreaking details on Instagram. The former EastEnders actress revealed her husband was in a state of "shock" after jetting out to help his family in disaster-struck Morocco.
Deadly earthquakes, the worst for 120 years, have killed more than 2,000 people. The Heather Trott star's spouse Yassine Al-Jermoni is busy helping where he can, but it was after talking to his wife that he delivered an "alarming" update.
Taking to Instagram, Cheryl explained: "I'm married to Yassine who is Moroccan and my family are Moroccan. And over the last few days, it's been, let's say, very challenging in their country. And I said, 'What's the matter?'.
"He said, 'Actually, I didn't want to alarm you. But you know, we all had to get out of the house' and he made sure that people were safe where he was. And his community were doing the same thing. And so I have been in a bit of shock, as well, and some of my posts have been quite reflective."
Cheryl says she asked Yassine about the essential requirements for those severely impacted by the earthquake. She admitted that the places to have felt the worst effects have been in remote regions in the mountains
EastEnders icon slams soap for 'normalising violence' in 'ridiculous' storylinesHowever, she also confirmed that towns and cities had not been spared from the disaster's effects. Releasing an urgent plea, Cheryl explained: "I am appealing to any companies who would be able to donate sleeping equipment, tents, or things for people to live in temporary shelters and who are able to get them shipped out.
The soap star has published her personal email address on her Instagram for anyone to get in touch if they can help. She added: "I mean food is always an issue, but it's not the main priority there. To be honest, it's getting people under shelter, and in the warm at night, because it gets cold," Cheryl explained.
"I want to really use this for the best purpose that I can. I have a platform and I would love to use it. I send my love, my prayers, and absolute my heart to the people of Morocco, the families who have lost friends, family members or loved ones, for those that are injured, and still getting medical attention."
The star also admitted that she wished she could fly out herself, however, she is unable to due to obligations to her ongoing projects. Cheryl admitted: "And if I was about to go on the tour, I'd be out there as well now. But I have to carry on working here and fulfilling my contract, so I can't just, on a whim, fly out to Morocco as I'm about to start that project.
"Sorry for the waffling ,but I'm not sorry that I'm appealing, and appealing as I am to you. And if anyone can help in any shape or form, please, please and even your kind thoughts, your prayers, and your support is as needed as anything else."
