Shakira wows in teeny gold two-piece as she performs at VMAs
Shakira looked incredible as she took to the stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards dressed in a teeny gold top, which she paired with a teeny bedazzled top.
The singer received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during the ceremony at Newark's prudential centre tonight. Shakira, 46, has been busy for weeks rehearsing for her performance of a medley of her biggest hits including She Wolf and Hips Don't Lie as she accepted the prestigious honour. The medley marks her first VMAs performance in 17 years following her rendition of the worldwide hit Hips Don't Lie alongside Wyclef Jean in 2006.

She joined huge name stars including Madonna, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez on the list of acts to receive the award. It was most recently given to Nicki Minaj at the 2022 ceremony, with Nicki hosting the awards both last year and this year.
Shakira made history as the first ever South American to win the Video Vanguard Award. She is also the second ever female Latina to win following JLo's success in 2018.
She shares two children with her ex partner Gerard Piqué. Since their split last year after 11 years of dating, she's been linked to a number of A-List celebs, but nothing has yet to be confirmed. Most recently, the 46-year-old singer was linked to rapper Drake as the pair were spotted leaving the same Los Angeles party "within minutes of each other", hinting at a possible romantic connection between the two.

Before the Drake rumours spread, Shakira was linked to F1 champ Lewis Hamilton, with the pair said to be in a situation which is 'more than friendship'. But according to Jordi Martin, a journalist well-acquainted with Shakira, the duo know there is nothing serious and 'that there was total freedom between them to do whatever they wanted'
Hamilton and Shakira have met on multiple occasions over the past few months, with one of those coming at the British Grand Prix. According to The Sun, Shakira flew in just to watch Hamilton at Silverstone on Sunday, July 9, before heading out in London to celebrate his podium finish. The duo partied at regular celebrity bar Tape and stayed out until early the next morning together.

These claims were later denied by the former Spanish football player as the couple were reportedly in an "open relationship" before they called it quits.
Shakira confirmed their split by taking to social media and announced: "We regret to confirm that we are separating. We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect."
Since their split, Barcelona ace Gerard sparked a new relationship with 24-year-old Clara Chia Marti, which added to speculation that he had cheated. But when Gerard became aware of the rumours of his infidelity, he made it clear that he was not cheating and sources close to Gerard said that he was "left in a state of disbelief" when the songwriter announced their breakup on social media.
