A popular theme park in Staffordshire is inviting fearsome guests of all ages to "join the horde," as part of their Viking Festival event this September.

While the kids may have already gone back to school, there is still plenty of time to pay a visit to Drayton Manor this month to join in with some Nordic adventures ahead of their Viking Festival celebration at the end of the month. The theme park unveiled its new Viking Land last summer, complete with three new exciting rides.

On the park's website, marauders are invited to "Raise your horns and get ready to party like a Viking god in Walhalla as the ultimate Viking celebration comes to Drayton Manor at this brand-new event."

Every day between now and September, 30, the Vikings will be showing off their fearsome skills to compete to be the leader of the horde during the Raiders Unleashed Viking skills show. The interactive shows will take place in Vikings Land at 3pm, 5pm and 6pm every day.

Entrance tickets start from £29 for anyone over the age of four or £15 for kids aged 2-3, and guests will be able to enjoy Viking street entertainers, pop-up bars and the Walhalla BBQ that will be serving up Viking-inspired grub all day, every day.

Throughout the festival, kids will be able to earn their place as a Viking legend on the Valiant Vikings trail before being put through their paces as they traverse through Viking Land on a quest to become the ultimate warrior.

The festival is free for platinum and gold annual pass holders and it will run on Saturdays until September 30.

Other popular theme parks are also hosting autumn events in the run up the festive season including discounted overnight safari stays at Chessington World of Adventures, Oktoberfest at Thorpe Park and new spooky attractions at Alton Towers.
