Sister Wives returned for its latest season just a few weeks ago, with fans getting to catch up on what's been happening in the lives of Kody Brown and his extensive family.

The TLC series launched back in 2010, initially following Kody and his 'wives' Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown for more than a decade. The reality TV show is now into its 18th season on the network.

Much has changed in the years since it debuted, with Kody no longer in relationships with Meri, Janelle and Christine. They continue to appear on the show though, alongside other members of the family, which includes 18 children.

Amid the new season having recently premiered, we've decided to take a look back at just a few dramatic moments that have featured on Sister Wives in recent years - including a scene that aired during the latest season.

'Shut it off'

Kody and Janelle had disagreed over restrictions around the Covid-19 pandemic, with Kody having wanted additional rules on top of public health guidelines. Janelle's decision not to adhere to his "rules" led to him living elsewhere.

The third episode of Season 18 saw them discuss Kody's estrangement from the family, after he had wanted two of their adult children to move out of the family home over the fear that their 'social lives' presented a risk in the pandemic.

Janelle - who had felt differently, deciding against kicking them out of the home - shared that she felt she was being blamed for Kody's relationships with their children. She told him: "All this stuff you're always flipping it back on me."

Kody commented that she "didn't support [his] stand when it came to actually doing Covid stuff". Janelle said she was protecting her children and disagreed with Kody about how long she had been aware of his "rules" around the virus.

They went on to accuse each other of gaslighting. Kody later said: "I was only asking everybody to obey to the rules of our home." Defending herself, Janelle said: "I agreed to the CDC rules. You had more. And it was never good enough Kody, I wasn't gonna turn my boys out in the middle of a pandemic."

Seemingly later in the conversation, Kody shared his opinion that he had been portrayed as the "bad guy" and accused Janelle of having "cheated [him] out of contract with [his] family". She responded to him: "It is not my fault."

The pair continued to disagree and talked over each other, with Janelle asserting: "Shut your f***ing mouth and let me talk to you for a minute." Kody however got up from the sofa and told her there was no "understanding" taking place.

The scene concluded with him heading for the door as she told him: "You stay and talk." Kody said he wasn't interested as they weren't listening to each other, stating "goodbye" moments before he slammed the door. Janelle shouted "f*** you" before seemingly telling production: "Shut it off!"

'Knife in the kidneys'

There was tension in the tenth episode of Season 17, when Kody confronted Christine during a conversation with his other 'wives' over her decision to leave the family. She told them she planned to move from Arizona to Utah in a week.

Christine said she was looking to have "space" from Robyn, Meri and Kody. She added that she envisioned them having family reunions in the future, though Robyn was upset and seemingly wanted clarification on their relationship.

Kody then told Robyn: "She's treated you like dirt from the very beginning. That's the relationship you have with her and that's the reason I'm angry." Addressing Christine, he said: "You never tried to have a really good relationship with these other people and that's the reason I'm so p***ed off."

Christine denied the claim and Kody kept ranting about her, at one point saying: "Just the knife in the kidneys over all these years! The sacrifices that I made to love you. Wasted! [...] You are running away, rather than being accountable."

After he had aired his frustrations in the scene, Christine asserted to the group: "I never tried to treat anybody like crap." Kody seemingly disagreed as they all sat on a porch, with her then telling him: "Well, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

'Dissolve the partnership'

Season 14 featured apparent tension between Kody and Robyn, who were seen disagreeing over whether to rent or buy their next home. As reported by the Sun, he "reached a boiling point" over their living arrangements in an episode.

A promo clip for an episode showed them announcing to their children that they needed to relocate as their home was being sold by the landlord. Robyn said in the scene: "We're having a really hard time trying to find a rental."

Kody however asserted that they wouldn't be finding a property to rent, instead telling the family that they would be making an offer on a house. He reiterated that they would be buying somewhere to live, rather than renting.

According to the outlet, they disagreed in a confessional too, with Kody quoted as having told his wife that there was "only one choice" available. They are said to have then disagreed about the message coming from a higher power.

He reportedly insisted that the message God was sending him was the opposite to what Robyn said she heard. Kody is heard saying in the clip: "He's telling us to do something else." Robyn seemingly replies: "He's not telling me that."

Kody later even teased the possibility of buying somewhere without Robyn, who seemingly suggested she didn't want to buy somewhere to live as she feared it could delay the wider family building a home on land that they owned.

Seemingly referencing his wife Robyn, Kody is heard saying in the promo clip: "Getting close to that point where I will dissolve the partnership that I have with her and I will go buy a house without her." It was however later reported by the Sun that the couple ended up purchasing a home.
