Daniel Agger's two career moves helping ex-Liverpool star thrive after football
Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger may have lost his job as coach of HB Koge this summer - but he's still making money from toilets and tattoos.
Hardman Agger, now 38, earned iconic status at Anfield after signing from Danish club Brondby in 2006. He helped the club to League Cup glory under Kenny Dalglish in 2011/12, eventually returning to Brondby in 2014. But just two years later he was retired from football at the age of 31 after suffering from an enduring back injury.
He would later publicly admit that an addiction to painkillers, brought about by his injury issues, also contributed to him hanging up his boots prematurely. But the man who made 232 appearances for the Reds had at least planned ahead and soon threw himself into two surprise business passions.
During his playing career, the designs plastered over Agger's body were frequently on show. And sure enough, he duly trained to be a tattoo artist, and is now part of one of the world's most renowned parlours, called Tattoodo.

"I was about 15 and on a school trip to Paris," he explained. "It wasn't something I'd thought about before. Me and a friend went into the shop and said that's what we're going to have and we got it. I still have it today."
Few spots on his body now remain uncovered, but there's no doubting which designs most warm the hearts of Liverpool fans. He has the famous 'YNWA' slogan tattooed on his knuckles, which he got during his time on Merseyside to help alleviate rumours he was seeking a move away.

The defender, who also won 75 caps for his country, also invested in another business plan whilst he was at Liverpool. Back in 2013, he invested almost £500,00 in his 'KloAgger' company - with the name translating to 'Agger toilet'.
The organisation does exactly what it says on the tin, managing sewage systems in Denmark with the former star himself regularly donning a high-vis jacket and getting his hands dirty, quite literally. Younger brother Marco is also involved, and Agger may now have time to commit more intently to both his ventures.
KloAgger tackles sewage systems in Denmark (Instagram)He took charge of First Division side HB Koge in March 2021, and even registered as a player in case of an injury crisis. He guided them to seventh in his inaugural season in charge, but failed to build on that second time around and, after overseeing an eighth-placed finish, left the club by mutual consent in June.
As well as his football and business interests, Agger is also renowned for putting his hand in his pocket for good causes. He's previously funded the international travel of Denmark's homeless football team, and back in 2021 began the Agger Foundation to help children in need.
