Pop music legend 'signs up for Dancing On Ice' after quitting her band

Former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt is reportedly the latest celebrity to sign up for this year's ice skating competition, Dancing On Ice.

It looks as though the singer, 42, who first found fame with the group in 1999, has already started training for the gruelling contest. Hannah, who is a mother of two, is not the only member of her former pop group who has appeared on the show, as she is now following in the footsteps of Rachel Stevens who appeared on the series last year.

It has been said that Hannah is "raring to go for Dancing On Ice " and is working hard in training. The news of Hannah's possible skating stint follows revelations about her S Club exit, with sources claiming Hannah "felt pushed out" of the group and the remaining members of the band have been ordered not to speak to her.

The source told The Sun: "Things have been tough with Hannah over the past 12 months and she hopes that appearing on the show will give her a much needed boost." They added: "Hannah is a seasoned performer and a great dancer so there is a good chance that she could go far in the series, as long as she nails the skating.”

News of Hannah joining the show comes after reports surfaced revealing that she had quit S Club's reunion show earlier this year, not long after the tragic death of her bandmate Paul Cattermole. Paul's cause of death was confirmed in May following the singer's death a month earlier. Dorset Coroner's Service confirmed Paul died of natural causes and no inquest into the singer's death will take place. However Dorset Police, who found Paul's body on April 6, said their enquiries were "ongoing".

The S Club singer's death was announced by his family and his band S Club 7 in April and fans flooded social media gto pay tribute to the lates singer. . A statement from the band announcing Paul's death read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."

Back in July it was reported that Hannah, who dated Paul, was unaware and shocked to discover that her group had announced tour plans as a five-piece on their social media. At the time, it was claimed that Hannah felt "blindsided" by the launch and has allegedly turned to lawyers. So now the five-piece group will simply be called S Club.

In an interview with The Sun ahead of the tour, the group touched on Hannah's absence. Jon stated: "It's a conversation for Hannah to have." But he stressed that the remainig members have loads of things happening in the future, leaving many to assume that the door is always open for her.

Keen to diffuse any speculation of a rift Tina added that "nothing bad" happened but everyone just needs their own space. Despite the group's view on the situation, sources have told the publication that there is "little to no chance" of Hannah rejoining the pop group. The source added that Hannah has been left devastated and feels as though she was pushed out but doesn't understand why.
