BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty missing as Charlie Stayt has new co-host

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty was nowhere to be seen as her usual co-host Charlie Stayt shared the red sofa with a more junior replacement presenter.

It's perhaps understandable that her absence has caused a stir as this comes after it was revealed that the programme was in the middle of a format shake-up. Charlie was seen this mornning (7 september) hosting his morning show with a more junior BBC Royal correspondent, Sarah Campbell. Usually, both Naga, 48 and Charlie, 61 take over the sofa from Jon Kay and Sally Nugent every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In what seemed like a natural replacement, Sarah looked at ease as she co-hosted the news programme alongside Charlie, wearing an eye catching floral dress.

And it looks as though fans were elated over Charlie's new co-host. Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Sarah. Lovely surprise to see you on the sofa this morning with a huge smile & looking so wonderfully colourful in that amazing dress."

They added: "I know bringing us the news is a tough job but like all at the BBC you are both professional & human #BBCBreakfast." Even more disturbing, Naga was also absent from her BBC Radio 2 show earlier this week. But Naga isn't the only one from BBC Breakfast to have gone missing recently. It wasn't that long ago that Sallly Nugent was noticeably absent, leaving her co-host Jon Kay to host the show alone from outside of the studio.

But he had help from his stand-in presenters Tina Daheley and Ben Boulous who co-hosted the show from the Salford studio. Naga, who has been a regular presenter on the show, has recently revealed that she is suffering from adenomyosis - a condition that affects the tissues that line the womb. Those suffering with this condition suffer terrible pain, which could also be a reason as to why Charlie was forced to co-host the morning news programme with Sarah.

The presenter is known for her sharp tongue as she has put certain guests in their place. But this time, it was an online troll who was on the recieving end of Naga's wrath. One viewer took to Twitter and cruelly wrote: "What is @TVNaga01 wearing?? Looks like she’s come straight to work from a night out at a sleazy single’s nightclub."

Naga was dressed in a black satin shirt dress and completed her look with red lipstick. Not one to let things go, the presenter took to Twitter and responded by saying: ":Sssssh... don't tell anyone. (btw - it's called a dress)." The star's caustic put down made a few of her fans proud as one wrote: "I LOVE what you wear Naga!!! ALWAYS so stylish."Another added: "What is it with people they have to criticise what people wear."And a third said:"I love all your outfits. The most stylish presenter on TV and the most articulate."
