A jail is cracking down on “inappropriate” undies after cons started smuggling in sexy lingerie.
Female prisoners out on day release were bringing back push-up bras and lacy knickers, which were later deemed to be contraband and confiscated.
Prison Service rules state that women are allowed up to 14 pairs of knickers and seven bras.
But provocative items that “do not meet the basic standards of modesty and decency” are banned.
The undies purge at East Sutton Park, near Maidstone, Kent, emerged in a report by the Independent Monitoring Board, which sends teams to inspect jails.

It stated: “There are a few recorded instances of residents bringing in illicit items. Usually, these consist of items of clothing.”

A source said: “There are enough security risks within a prison without having to worry about frilly drawers.

Last night, a Prison Service spokesman said: “Clothing purchased by prisoners must be approved by the prison before they can wear it or it will be confiscated.”
