Liverpool head into the international break having made a great start to their Premier League campaign.

Sunday's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa made it three straight wins, meaning the Reds have taken 10 points from 12 thus far. But fans are now set for an anxious 48 hours with Al-Ittihad expected to make a second bid for Mo Salah.

The Saudi transfer window does not close until Thursday, September 7. And after having a verbal £150 million offer rejected last week, delegates flew into the UK on the weekend with the Merseyside club preparing themselves for an improved £200 bid.

A host of Jurgen Klopp's players will now also head off to play for their countries. The club will return to action at home to Wolves on Saturday, September 16.

Reds braced for £200m bid as Saudi officials fly in

Al-Ittihad are preparing to make a world-record transfer bid for Mohamed Salah, with Saudi chiefs flying into London to try and seal a deal for the Egyptian superstar.

The Daily Mail have reported that a delegation arrived in London on Saturday to make 'one last push' to sign Salah before their transfer window closes. on September 7. The report states that Al-Ittihad will make a new offer in the region of £200m and they believe the forward is keen on a move.

Last Thursday, a £150 million bid was rejected. And Jurgen Klopp has continued to insist that the Egyptian forward won't be leaving the club.

Gravenberch snubs Holland call-up

New Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has pulled himself out of international duty to focus on settling in to life with the Reds.

The 21-year-old has asked to be withdrawn from Dutch under-21 duty for this month's fixtures against Moldova and North Macedonia. Coach Michael Reiziger has reacted by calling up SC Cambuur midfielder Fedde de Jong.

A Dutch FA statement said: "Ryan Gravenberch will not travel to Zeist this international match to join the Dutch Juniors. The Liverpool FC midfielder has indicated to KNVB coach Michael Reiziger that he wants to focus on his new club during the international match in September and will therefore not make himself available."

Gomez urges Liverpool momentum

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has called for his team to "regroup straight away" once the international break is over.

Having taken, 10 points from a possible 12, Gomez told Liverpoolfc.com on Monday: "It's a different team and I think it's important, like always, that we don't get ahead of ourselves. Obviously all the boys go round the world now and we have to come back and regroup straight away and try to keep the momentum going.

The 26-year-old also hailed the impact of the four new signings, adding: "It's a breath of fresh air as well to see the boys settle so quickly and do what they do and express themselves. Like I say, it's just the start, we have to keep progressing."
