EastEnders tease shock Kat and Alfie reunion as she makes big decision

EastEnders have teased a potential reunion for much-loved couple Kat Slater and Alfie Moon.

Alfie made a shock return to Walford late last year as he tried to win Kat over with no avail. Kat has been with Phil Mitchell for some time now, with the pair planning to get married. However, it looks like things hit a rough point next week.

Kat is left angry when Alfie tells her that Tommy lashed out at him. She is left even more frustrated when he tells her that him and Phil have been dealing with it away from her. Kat confronts Phil over his deception, and that is when he accidentally reveals that Alfie may have prostate cancer. Horrified about being kept in the dark, Kat rushes to be with Alfie at the hospital.

Phil is desperate to make amends with Kat, who is refusing to talk to him. Sharon gives him a pep talk, and when he arrives at the cab office with chocolates for Kat, she tells him to go. Sharon, meanwhile, sees Kat and tries to talk some sense into her.

Kat knows it's right to try and work things out so she heads over to Peggy's, where Phil has gone to have some time to himself. However, his own plans are disrupted when Emma barges in and demands a gin and tonic.

She is left even more angry when Phil gets home the next day, angry he stayed out all night. He vows to be truthful to her now at all times, but when a coy Emma passes, he rushes off. Alfie ends up letting the boys down, leading Kat to make a big decision.

Kat decides she must marry Phil once and for all and phones the registry office to make a booking. Finding out they have a cancellation next week, she sets the date and plans to marry Phil in just a few days time.

Shane Richie - who plays Alfie - previously teased a potential reunion for Kat and Alfie one day.

"There's always talk of Kat and Alfie. We're like the Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor of the soaps, aren't we? But at the moment, I'm really enjoying Alfie being single. There's a bromance with Alfie and Freddie; he's become like what Spencer Moon was back in the day – so I'm enjoying playing that at the moment," he said of the possibility of rekindling the romance.
