Peter Andre’s son Junior looks the spitting image of his famous father in a first look at his new single.

The singer, who has just turned 18, followed his dad – who had huge hits in the Nineties with songs like Mysterious Girl, Flava and All Night, All Right – into the music business and Pete has already predicted his son will have a bigger career than he did.

Back in May, Junior’s debut track Slide went viral on social media before it was even released and shot to the top of the iTunes charts, although it only managed to peak at Number 72 in the official UK music charts. But the talented youngster is hoping for more success with his second single, Only You.

Taking to Instagram to give his 548,000 followers a sneak preview, he shared a photo of the new single cover and wrote: “You’ve been asking me for ages now ‘when are you dropping new music?’

“Well I can finally say with a big smile on my face that my single ‘Only One’ is being released on FRIDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER!! I’ve been working nonstop in the studio and I have so much new music to share with you all.

He ended the post by saying: “I can’t thank you enough for the support you continue to show me, I appreciate you all so much. Pre-save the track to make sure you get to hear it first, hit the link in my bio. I can’t wait for the song to be yours #onlyone #newmusic #newsingle #comingsoon.”

In another post on Instagram, Junior – whose mum is Katie Price – shared a preview of the new track from his performance at CarFest at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire last weekend.

Little sister Princess, 16, was quick to comment underneath saying: “Proud of you J” followed by a love heart. Winter Love Island winner Kai Fagan posted: “Come oooooonn! Can’t wait to hear it bro x” while London rapper Kwengface wrote: “My boy.”

Fans were also quick to take to the comments underneath to praise Junior and comment just how much he looks like his dad Pete. One wrote: “Such a great single, the future is bright.” Another said: “Woop woop Junior!!! @officialjunior_andre well done hard work pays off.”

A fourth said: “YESSSSS FINALLY I’VE BEEN WAITING SINCE SLIDE DROPPED.” A fifth chimed in: “Let’s go my boy!! Looking like a superhero. Save the summer! #OnlyOne,” followed by flame emoijis.

While a sixth said: “Such a talented young man, just like his dad and has daddy’s looks too and his cheeky gorgeous smile, so polite and likeable he is so popular now. Wish you so much success Junior you are a star in the making, you should model too Junior. You are so good looking xx.”

Dad Pete predicts Junior is set for a bright future and revealed to the Mirror he urged him to be a songwriter as well as a singer. He said: "Junior is a hugely talented kid because he doesn’t just go in the studio and sing, he sits and he writes.

“He’s a good songwriter and I said to him from the start ‘if you’re going to do this, be a songwriter because if you’re just a singer, work will come and go. But if you’re a songwriter you’ll never go hungry because you can write for other people’.

"I’ve written with other artists including Gary Barlow and Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs. The biggest regret I have is that I could always play chords on the piano but I could never play the piano, because I was too lazy to carry on.
