Tyson Fury admits he is “senseless drunk” after sinking three pints of beer

Tyson Fury has admitted it only takes two or three pints to leave him legless.

The heavyweight world champion binged on booze and drugs during his three-year hiatus from the ring following his stunning victory over Wladimir Klitschko. He ballooned to almost 400lb before launching a remarkable comeback which saw him crowned champion again with victory over Deontay Wilder.

Fury has remained in shape since and is currently preparing for a showdown with former UFC heavyweight ruler Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia next month. But in his new Netflix show, At Home with The Furys , he said: “Two, three pints I’m gone, especially beer. Senseless, speechless drunk. Especially if you don’t drink all of the time.”

Fury has not fought since he stopped Derek Chisora in their unwanted trilogy fight last December. He had been expected to take on Oleksandr Usyk to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, but talks broke down over an April meeting at Wembley. Usyk went on to retain his three titles by stopping Daniel Dubois last weekend.

Fury will be expected to dominate Ngannou in the desert with the Cameroonian making his professional boxing debut. The fight will go on both men's records, but Fury's world title will not be on the line in Riyadh on October 29.

But his dedication is a far cry from his spiral into depression, with his dad John adding: "Last time that Tyson retired a lot went on, he went 10 stone over his body weight. Drinking non-stop, eating rubbish. If I think Tyson or any of my sons that are doing something that’s detrimental to themselves, I’ll be the first to say it straight."

Fury and his family have been under scrutiny since the Netflix show aired with the boxer admitting he wanted to stop filming after just a few weeks. "We got halfway through filming, and he [Tyson] wanted to cancel the whole show!” his wife Paris revealed in a joint interview with her husband on Capital XTRA’s Breakfast show.

"Yeah, I wanted out; I was like, a couple of weeks in, I said: ‘Is there any way?’” Tyson added. “I’d be on the phone with my lawyers, ‘Is there any way I can get out of this, I don’t know what I’ve signed up for again.’ I said I’d never do it again, I’ve done it again, I’ve made a mistake."
