Popular streamer IShowSpeed broke down in tears after being tricked into thinking that football legend Cristiano Ronaldo had died.

The YouTuber, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., scrolled past the fake news on X, formerly Twitter, during a recent livestream, and appeared to cry. "Oh my God!", the 18-year-old said. "What the f*** is going on?"

He added before reportedly ending the stream: "I'm going to freak the f*** out. Stop f***ing playing. If y'all playing, stop playing right now, bro. Say it's fake right now. Say it's fake! If it's fake say 'fake,' if it's real say it's 'real.' Right now, bro. Right now!"

Ronaldo, 38, who scored two goals in Al-Nassr's recent 4-0 win over Al-Shabab, isn't dead, and many believe that IShowSpeed pretended to be fooled by the death hoax. IShowSpeed is, of course, a Ronaldo megafan.

His X handle has "sui" in it, a word Ronaldo famously shouts out during his iconic celebration after scoring a goal. The streamer, who started to grow his online audience in 2017 while playing Valorant, Roblox, Fortnite, or Fifa, said in a viral clip when asked what football team he supports: "Crista Ronaldo, sui."

IShowSpeed also once flew to the UK to watch Ronaldo play for Manchester United, only for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to miss the game. He also followed Ronaldo to the Middle East to watch him play at the World Cup with Portugal and his new club Al-Nassr. He eventually met his idol after months of talking to Ronaldo's Portuguese teammates such as Rafael Leao.

"My son told me you were going to be here," Ronaldo told IShowSpeed after a warm embrace. IShowSpeed also recently wore a Real Madrid jersey to an awards ceremony and even gave a shoutout to the football star after winning.

The social media star, who according to Social Blade, generates up to £4.3million ($5.5m) per year from his YouTube channel alone, recently had a health scare. IShowSpeed was hospitalized with a cluster headache in Japan last month, which forced his right eye to swell up. He has since made a full recovery "Right now, I have one of the worst experiences I am having right now," he said in an emotional video at the time of his hospitalisation.

"I can’t even open up my eyes. I have this thing called a cluster headache. A deadly headache disease. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I can’t do anything right now. It hurts so bad, chat. It hurts so bad. I can’t do anything. It hurts. Everything I do, like, something pounding my head every time and I’m so angry.

“My eye’s puffing up. It feels like a stab. It feels like somebody is stabbing my eye with a knife. Boom, boom, boom, boom. And, I have a headache right in this area (the streamer puts his hand on top of his right eye and the temple). It’s literally exactly like this.”
