EastEnders' Sam Womack 'in row with van driver' over claims she 'hit vehicle'

EastEnders’ Samantha Womack has given a driver the middle finger after an alleged row with a van driver.

The London-based confrontation was captured on Christmas Eve by a catering firm driver, Maamar Bentouati, who alleged that she hit into the back of his work van after suddenly changing direction.

Not realising who she was, 51-year-old Maamar claimed that he stopped and spoke to the 50-year-old actor to obtain her details - to which she began to shout about being late for her job.

“She said she’d go mad if I didn’t move,” Maamar claimed.

After driving away in her Range Rover, the man claimed he followed her until she stopped at the West End’s Gillian Lynne Theatre, where Sam - who is best known for playing Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders - is performing in The Lion, The With And The Wardrobe.

The driver claimed to The Sun that she left her vehicle and walked away as she pointed at an advert before saying: “‘If you want my name, it’s on the board there.’”

Maamar began to take pictures of her and her vehicle, which included the picture of the Albert Square star holding both of her middle fingers up towards him.

“Finally, she agreed to give me her details if I pulled aside. But as I did so, she drove off,” he alleged.

The North-London-based man then claimed that he was left to contact the police as he followed her to the theatre, where he saw her with a man and two dogs.

The police are not taking any action over the incident.

He also claimed that he was left £100 out of pocket thanks to the ordeal, as his employer refused to pay the £250 excess from his insurance.

Two months on from the alleged incident, and Mamaar claimed that he is still without the money and believes that she is responsible for paying the bill.

Samantha's representative declined to comment when contacted by the Mirror.
