A woman is accused of luring a beauty-blogger to her death by offering a free treatment before stabbing her 50 times.

Shahraban K. and boyfriend Sheqir K. are accused to targeting Khadidja O. because she looked so much like Shahraban, sharing the same dark hair and complexion. Shahraban and her boyfriend are alleged to have tracked her down on social media before stabbing her in a bid to fake her own death.

The pair aimed many of the stab wounds to Khahidja's face to make it easier to fool the investigation, prosecutors claim. A court in Ingolstadt, Bavaria State, heard how they believed they could pass off their victim's body as Shahraban K. so she could escape her strict Iraqi family.

It's claimed the couple contacted strangers on the internet who looked enough like Shahraban to convince a coroner it was her. "We have determined that the female suspect had decided to go into hiding due to family-internal arguments," state prosecutor Veronika Grieser told local media on Thursday. "She wanted to fake her own death and start a new life."

The alleged killers sent the victim a message on August 9, 2022, offering her the chance to be in a video with German rapper Lune. They did so under the guise of fake account 'lunee.officiel', telling her: "You don't have to do much. Would be great to hear from you. Would take place in Offenburg."

They sparked suspicion when they added: "Must be kept a secret though until the song is released." Khadidja sent a message to the star's official account. Lune replied saying: "It's fake, sis. Don't reply!"

Just two days later, the defendants used another Instagram account to get in touch. Prosecutor Grieser said: "This time, they offered a beauty treatment which would come free of charge if their victim advertised it on social media."

The group arranged to meet in the victim's hometown of Eppingen according to Grieser, where the killers picked Khadidja up in a Mercedes. "They drove towards Ingolstadt but asked the 23-year-old to get out of the car in a forest," she said. "She was hit on the head at least once and then stabbed 56 times."

Police spokesman Andreas Aichele gave details on her injuries, with many sustained to her face. He explained: "Her face was seriously injured with the more than 50 knife stabs."

Then, the accused killers stuffed her body in the back of the car before ditching it near to Shahraban's home in Ingolstadt which her horrified parents then found and assumed their daughter was dead. German police officers had initially identified the body. But suspicions about the body's identity arose following an autopsy, and the victim has since been identified Khadidja.

A check of the victim's tattoos eventually revealed her true identity, and Shahraban and Sheqir were tracked down and arrested. Prosecutors plan to question 190 witnesses in court, charging the pair with murder. The pair are being held in custody and their full trial is expected to start shortly.
