Katie Price shares dramatic new career after being changed by community service

Katie Price has revealed she's training to be a paramedic after volunteering at St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley following her community service at the hospice's charity shop.

The former Page 3 star had been serving community service at the hospice after she was slapped with an 18-month order after pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order by contacting her ex-husband Kieran Hayler's fiancé Michelle Penticost. She served her 170 hours of service, which is equivalent to a month of full-time work at the charity shop for the hospice, but plans to make a return.

Katie, 45, avoided prison last year after claiming she had "misunderstood" the rules of the restraining order. She sent a string of abusive messages, calling Michelle a "c***ing whore" and a "gutter s**g". In 2019, she was slapped with a five-year restraining order which prohibited her from contacting Michelle directly or indirectly after using abusive slurs at the school gates.

But it appears her community service has changed her life and rather than stripping off, Katie is hoping to slip into a rather unexpected uniform. Speaking to Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast, she revealed her career plans before landing her first Page 3 gig. She said: "Everyone said I should be a model but I was training to be a nurse and I was doing Project 2000 if anyone has heard of that or if anyone did it. Registered nurse is what I was training to be. And, obviously, 26 years on I'm still in this industry for God's sake."

Katie has revealed she has recently decided to go back into the care industry as she revealed: "But now I'm training to be a paramedic, it's going to take five years." This caught Jamie completely off guard as he quipped: "This is amazing!" Katie went on to add: "People don't know all this. I've done my community service from driving at St Catherine's Hospice and now I'm a volunteer, I'm now going to do care assistant there, because I said I want to work with them and the offices and they just can't believe I really want to do all that volunteer work – I just love caring for people.

"I've gone from poster on a wall to palliative care – see what I mean my brain is nuts!" Earlier in the week, Katie took to her social media pages to reveal she was volunteering at the hospice after completing her community service. Sharing a snap of herself wearing a bright orange fleece jacket, with the St Catherine's logo on, she said: "Love working with the team @stcatherinescrawley everyone has been so welcoming, and I'm now a weekly volunteer."

Despite dodging prison last year, Katie recently pleaded with authorities to lock her up because she is "fed up" of going to court more times than she has had "hot dinners". The former glamour model was declared bankrupt in 2019, and in July a court hearing took place at the Royal Courts of Justice over her £3.2 million debt repayment, where she was accused of a "breach of income payments agreement". The Brighton-born star is expected to give evidence at another bankruptcy hearing on September 14 in a bid to save her house – dubbed Mucky Mansion – and is thought to be worth more than £2 million.
