A tornado caused by Hurricane Idalia has ravaged its way through the streets of South Carolina as it lifted a car by its rear and flipped it on to its roof in a horrific moment caught on camera.

A black car in South Carolina was seen on video Wednesday flying onto its roof while driving near Goose Creek. The video, which was posted on TikTok, shows a twister quickly sideswiping the vehicle causing it to perform a complete flip on to its roof. The video is from the point of view from another car driving behind the vehicle.

Additionally, the black car appeared to make a crash landing on an adjacent vehicle's hood, which caused it to make a complete stop. The TikTok video slightly offsets the horror with an upbeat background song, which is "The Storm is Coming" by American Songwriter Tommee Profitt.

Police said that the two people inside the black car suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to WCBD News. There have been two confirmed deaths caused by the storm. These came in the form of car crashes occurring early Wednesday morning in Gainesville, Florida, and Pasco County, which north of Tampa.

Hurricane Idalia has caused less damage in the Carolinas than expected and moved offshore into the Atlantic ocean early Thursday morning. Although the hurricane did cause heavy rain and flooding.

The Charleston National Weather Service Office will assess the damage Idalia caused and the rating of the twister when it conducts its survey using the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which rates a tornado or twister on its intensity in terms of the damage it caused. Tornados are typically rated from zero to five.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently vying for the Republican presidential nomination, issued a warning Wednesday during a news conference to potential thieves looking to loot during Idalia's onslaught. The presidential hopeful seemed to give Floridans the green light to shoot looters on sight.

“People have a right to defend their property. This part of Florida, you got a lot of advocates and proponents of the Second Amendment, and I’ve seen signs in different people’s yards in the past after these disasters, and I would say it’s probably here – ‘You loot, we shoot',” he said at the conference.

The governor was responding to reports of looters in Taylor County, which is where Idalia first touched down. Ron condemned anyone who was trying to loot areas that have just been "ravaged" calling the action "ridiculous".
